Paphiopedilum hookerae (Rchb. f.) Stein
Paph hookerae is found mostly on the upper part of the Island of Borneo. The flowers have a distinct color and are quite beautiful when in flower. The foilage also has a unique pattern and is worth growing by itself. Paph volonteanum used to be considered a separate species for its different staminode, narrower leaves and purple mottling on the underside of the leaves. We now understand this to be natural variation within the species and different locals.
Plant is more difficult to grow, slow growing and can be finicky. I grow them in coconut.
