Paphiopedilum hangianum Perner & Gruss

Synonyms:

Paph hangianum

One of the many new species found in North Vietnam, this one near the Chinese border of Yunan. This species seems related to Paph emersonii except for the splash of color near the center of the flower on the petals. The flowers seem to be more cupped than Paph emersonii also. Colors of the flower have been reported from Cream, light yellow and possibly light peach. Leaves and plant habit is similar to Paph emersonii. Reported to be very slow growing. As with all new Paphs from Vietnam, these are not available commercially although some plants have found their way to Taiwan, Japan and Europe.

Culture is unknown but beleived to be similar to Paph emersonii.
