Paphiopedilum delenatii Guillaumin
Up until the late 1990's, almost all of the plants in cultivation were from selfings from a plant in the Vacherot & Lecoufle collections from the 1920's. Paph delenatii since has been rediscovered in the mid-1990's. The orginal plants were pale and had light colored pouches. We now know the plants have varying degree's of pink with a full color range of pouches. An alba form has also been discovered. This flower is also fragrant.
These are warmer growing plants with distinct wet winters and dry summers. These seem to do best in a open mix with good drainage. Siblings of the recollected plants grow much faster than plants whose origin has been from the Vacherot & Lecoufle plants.
