The following are pictures of awards given on October9, 1999 at the
Denver Orchid Society Show. They are published in this forum for
information only to encourage judging participation and provide
education of hybridizing trends and recognition of quality hybrids
and species. All awards are provisional until published in the AOS
Awards Quarterly and this information should be treated as
preliminary.
Oncidium Margaret Chenoweth 'Technicolor Dream' HCC 76pts

Fourty-one flowers, fifteen buds on three sturdy inflorescences;
speals and petals chartreuse overlaid with mahogany spots and
irregular chartreuse edging; lip intense lilac with white picotee
edging, crest and lateral lobes dark lilac; substance firm; texture
matte.

Twelve, slightly cupped flowers nicely presented on one long arching
inflorescence; overall color deep bronze edged pale green; lip white
heavily overlaid bright magenta, edged white distally; column white
lightly overlaid magenta; substance extremely heavy; texture
matte.

Angraecum Lemforde White Beauty 'Mr. Wonderful' AM 82 pts

L: 5.0 cm
Two star-shaped flowers with exceptionally full form; overall color
clear white with pale green surrounding the column; the 21.5 cm
nectary also pale green; substance vary heavy; texture glossy.
