Eight flowers and five buds on six inflorescences and five immature
inflorescences growing on a large plant; sepals and petals yellow,
heavily spotted and blotched maroon; column, lip wings and distal
portion of lip creamy yellow spotted blood red, central portion
butter yellow, base dark blood red; texture very glossy; substance
extreamely heavy. The flower had much fuller and rounder form than
ususal because of the nearly horizontal presentation of the lateral
sepals.

markings; substance and fragrance less than expected.
